hey there fellow Jockoholiks'

its been a very long hiatus for me here on hausofJockolate's

blog due to a change in work commitments over the past

3 years! i took a 2 year long break from creating my wonderful

works of edible art to pursue a career in the teaching industry.

im doing well, and ive decided to embark on a new concept

and bring my creations in a new direction - ART!

i would like to invite my Jockoholik's to a new project of mine

which is currently in progress. its called, Piece of Artt.

the cakes featured are inspired from the study of various artists

and their art styles. im taking on the challenge of creating a new

breed of cake artistry combining Fine Arts & Culinary Art.

you'll find artworks paying homage to renowned Artists like

Vincent Van Gogh - Sunflower 1988 (as seen here) and

various art forms & styles like Stain Glass, Batik, etc: and

artworks with reference to Impressionism, Pop Art etc:

 hey yall!

heres anotha one of my hand piped buttercream creations

for the month of Love - February!

what better way to celebrate with your loved one with a

cake decorated in colorful roses :D

this time round, i finally had a chance to try out the

piping tip i bought ages ago when i first started out in

the baking scene! this is only the 2nd cake i made with 

a basket weave effect. i really had fun creating the 

weave with almond flavor buttercream. it was hard work

as they had to be aligned neatly and match the starting

points as it ends!

this cake was requested by my friends friend for his 

wife to celebrate her birthday. how sweet right?

he had asked for a family of 4 teddy bears to sit 

amongst the bed of roses. kinda looks like a story

from a fairytale dosent it? :D

Valentine Romance

Valentines Day this year was indeed a memorable one!

i had a few cake requests for the month of February,

with some cakes filled with hand piped buttercream roses.

 im sure by now yall would have known how much 

i really like hand piping these buttercream roses!

i think i can go on for hundreds of roses and ill never

get tired of each one :) aren't they pretty looking!

 this ones a Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Hazelnut filling.

i kept it simple with a white fondant sides and piped out 

a string of pearl looking trimmings. it really gives that 

classy look to it. sometimes less is more :)

As we reminiscence the year 2012, let us welcome 2013

with loads of fun, laughter and smiles just like our cutest

monster character in Sesame Street - Elmo!

As with many cake request for the past year, ive managed

to squeeze in some that fits into my busy work schedule.

this one was a request from a cousin of mine for her son's

1st year old birthday celebration on 1st January!

A 2 tier full cake design with my all time favorite cake 

flavor - Chocolate Hazelnut

the cake topper you see here is shaped into a slice of 

chocolate cake complete with buttercream frosting and 

chocolate rice too! with a candle adorned atop and a semi 

3D Elmo on its side, this cake sure looks merry duncha think.

Happy 1st Birthday Eshan!
