Hazelnut Chocolate fillings... made into a shape of a yacht.

Luxury Brands in da 'haus'

Luxury Brands Overdose!
I know uve all seen my Louis Vuitton - Ursula Handbag Cake
recently. And now, i present to yall the ultimate of Luxury.
4 new brands into my Cake Portfolio Collection!
Salvatore Ferragamo - Burberry - Louis Vuitton - Gucci

I started out buildin this 4 tier cake with a white box as its base.
Initially, my design concept was for Coco Chanel and Louis Vuitton
for the 2nd and 3rd tiers. But after ive completed the Louis Vuitton
suitcase, i got addicted to creatin more brands! So i decided to
include other favourite brands too. I guess its true what they say...
Once uve got ure first 'it' bag, theres no stopping
for more!

I especially liked the Burberry tier. Creating the Burberry
checkered scarf draped onto the cake was really fun. This is
actually a second scarf because the first one didnt turn
out how i wanted it to be. i always strive for perfection!
I also had a hard time with the Burberry letterings...
But all in all, i couldnt be more proud of my creations knowing
that my hard work and sleepless nights were worthwhile!

Louis Vuitton - Ursula Handbag.

Ive always wanted a go at baking a handbag cake. Ive seen the works
of other food artists out there on their take on a handbag insipred cake.
When I had my first request for it, I couldnt wait but to do a
Louis Vuitton inspired Handbag Cake!

This has surely got to be my most proudest creations ever!
My first go at makin a handbag cake turned out better than what
I had imagined! All my frens out there flipped out when they saw
it. I gotta agree with em. How could anyone ever jam a knife
into this cake for a bite?!
Vanilla Butter Cake layered with Strawberry Jam
and chunks of Strawberries!

'haus of JOCKolate'© presents Louis Vuitton - Ursula Handbag.
My creative take on it :)

English High Tea.

Fancy havin an English High Tea?
Why not gather your favourite group of frens over to your
place for a nice chit-chat over a cup of hot Earl Grey Tea and
some Cupcakes too!

I baked a batch of Strawberry flavoured Cupcakes and iced them with
Almond flavoured Butter Cream. I piped myself different varieties of
flowers and coulours I could think of. I know theres plenty more flowers
out there that ive yet to discover!

Theyre so pretty and colourful arent they?
Im thinkin that I should send out and RSVP to
Bree Van de Kamp and have her over for tea!
Im sure theres tonnes of recipes that we could both
bake out in the kitchen! What yall think?
Desperate Housewives style... haha :)

Have A Break, Have A...

It was so much fun creatin this one of a kind cake!
My client had asked for a Chocolate Cake to celebrate their Graduation
of becomin stewards and stewardess for Singapore Airlines.
I was thinkin what better way to have a Chocolate Cake then to have
it in the form of a Chocolate Bar!

Its a Fondant covered, Chocolate Butter Cake with 3 layers of melted
Hazelnut Chocolate in between in the shape of the all time favourite
Kit Kat Bar!

"Have A Break, Have A Kit Kat!"
im really lookin forward to creatin more versions and variety of
Chocolate Bars - Cadbury, Crunchies, Mars... and the list goes on...

Autumn Wedding.

Presenting 'haus of JOCKolate's© first ever tiered cakes!

This was my first ever tiered/stacked cake combo.
It took quite sumtime to become a reality actually.
The initial stages consists of designin, conceptualisin
and planning. Ive always wanted to do a wedding cake
with lots of flowers on it.
So ive decided on an Autumn inspired cake!

The flowers were done days before hand coz
they do need sumtime to harden. Its a combo
between fondant Roses and royal icing Hibiscus
flowers. I also found out that I really like working
with Fondant as a medium. You can really go wild
and crazy with Fondant!
Here's to more Wedding Cakes to come...

Psychedelic!

In my previous post, uve seen how you can get a nice

pressy cake for ure bestie. And thats just what I did!

I baked a nice hexagon Lemon Cake for Khairul!

My all time, lifelong bestie!

Everyone couldnt believe their eyes when they saw how

colourful the inside of the Lemon Cake was!

I couldnt be more excited as i jammed that knife into the

cake to cut everyone a slice! 6 Rainbow colours in total.

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple

This time I tried a new flavour for the Butter Cream - Rose

Its got a pleasant smell thats fragrant and tastes really sweet!

I used really bright colours and piped strings running down the

sides of the cake. It truely does have a joyous and festive look.

Happy Birthday Bestie!

Gift Wrapped!

Ouh no! ure bestie's birthdays just around the corner and
ure out of ideas on what would be the best gift to get for
them on their birthday! Aaargh...
Fret not! Why not get them a nice pressy in a form of a Cake!
Im sure it'll be a nice surprise to receive an edible present
thats wrapped up complete with a nice bow.

This ones a nice hexagon Chocolate Cake!
A smooth Chocolate Butter Cream finish, adorned with
white fondant ribbons and a bow witting in the center.
Complete with that special well wishes :)

Diamond's are a Girl's Best Friend...

A friend of mine had told a girlfren of his about my online customized
cake website and she wanted me to be part of her Birthday Celebration!
She had a "Luxury Brands" theme goin on for her party and she had
asked me to re-create an edible Tiffany & CO box for her guests.

I love challenges and tryin out new designs for my cakes.
And so when she requested for these, i was really excited
of its outcome. I wasnt sure what a Tiffany & CO box looked
like so i went to search for it online.
ps: gotta say though, im not in any way representin or
workin with/for Tiffany & CO yeah :) im just a humble
food artist who loves re-creatin and making wonderful works
of edible art!

I baked a nice Vanilla Butter Cake and sliced em up into
nicely shaped squares. She wanted half of em to be filled
with Chocolate and the other Strawberry Jam. I made
Almond flavoured Butter Cream and coloured it sky blue.
So glad that i manage to achieve the similar blue hues
of the box :D

Icing the Mini Cakes really took me awhile, and that was
the time consumin part. hehe... but once all of em were
done, i couldnt wait to get into doing the details of the
box. Puttin on the white ribbons and bows and finally i had
the most cutest gift box perfect for her 21st Birthday Party!

Sesame Street!

If I had to choose a particular Cupcake design that I like,
It would definitely be the Sesame Street Themed Cupcakes!
I had a blast recreating these colourful furry creatures as
edible art for a client's mini Birthday celebration.

I did Elmo twice actually. the first time Elmo's fur was
similar as Grover's. I had my bestie over to help me out
with the colourin of the Butter Cream and we sure had a
good laugh! Elmo had the wrong skin! hahaha... and my
bestie said i didnt do his nose right too :) After a switch of
Cupcake, Icing Tip and a good stare at the printout i had of
the characters, i finally got it right :)

Once i got the hang of things, the rest of them was a breeze!
Really liked how Oscar turned out :D Love his chocolate bushy
eye brows and heart shaped tongue.

Once all the Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry Cupcakes
were topped with these lovable characters, we lined em up,
took tonnes of pikture and sang,
"Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street..."
hehe...

Hawaian Tropics...

We all know that the combo of Apples and Cinnamon are
a hit especially when baked in a crispy buttery tart or as
a pie. Now how bout tryin out Pineapples! The combo of
Pineapples and Desiccated Coconuts are awesome!
Topped with glazed cherries, dripped with caramelized
Brown Sugar on a Coconut Flavoured Butter Cake...
OMG its like being on a tropical paradise by the beach!

Truely it is!
The smell of Coconut really fills the air in my kitchen!
Not to mention the Brown Sugar thats slowly caramelizing
on the bottom of the cake.

So why is it called Pineapple Upside Down Cake?
Its coz the name comes from the idea that the topping
is baked on the bottom! yes. Normally, once uve baked a
nice cake, you'd take it out and start decoratin it afterwards.
But for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, all u have to do is to
flip it over and *tadaa...an upside down cake is serve right
side up.
